At Samsonite, we’re continuously looking to innovate our products for the traveler of tomorrow. As part of the Innovation & Development Team, located in Oudenaarde (Belgium), we are looking for an Innovation Expert.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Innovation team in diverse innovation projects by:
- Organizing and following up internal testing of new prototypes.
- Coordinating building of new prototypes.
- Participating in various R&D projects with external parties, such as universities & industrial partners.
- Investigating quality improvement opportunities for existing products.
- Work closely together with marketing & product development & production to implement new concepts/materials/techniques.
- Constantly keep abreast of market trends and innovative techniques.
- You get the opportunity to work on various projects, being involved with new materials, new concepts using state-of-the-art technology and machines for the next generation of suitcases.
Applicants should ideally:
- Have a degree in Product Development / Materials Engineering / Industrial Engineering or similar through experience.
- Have 5+ years of relevant experience in new product development, innovation, R&D.
- Demonstrate a high degree of curiosity in new concepts, materials & production techniques & sustainability.
- Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Have a hands-on mentality.
- Have excellent organisational skills & an eye for details.
- Be a strong team player.
- Experience with CAD is a plus.
- Being fluent in Dutch and English is a must.
